Here we are!~
We are the Fortin family. All of us born and raised in Edmonton, Alberta our whole lives (with the exception of a brief stint in Ontario a few years back). All of our immediate family is here in Edmonton with the exception of my brothers family in Calgary. Keith worked in the finance industry for over 10 years after obtaining his Degree in Business, and just recently decided to quit his job and go back to school to pursue a lifelong passion for building and design. After obtaining a Degree in Health Promotion, I worked in the Fitness and Health industry for over 12 years and three years ago went back to school myself to take Interior Decorating. I have run my own Interior Decorating business from home for the last 2 years. We have been married for almost 11 years and have Ethan, 8, and Jenny, 6. Ethan’s passion is BUGS and has been for the last 6 years. His future plan at this point is to become an Entomologist ( a bug scientist). Jenny loves Art and wrestling, much more of a free spirit. Her plans are still wide open! Needless to say, our lives are busy, as are all parents, but we wouldnt change a thing.
Keith and I have always had an interest in the environment and I think having young children has only pushed our desires to do and learn more further. We feel strongly about individual social responsibility and teaching our kids the same. As we embark on this new year, we hope to learn more about not only the environment, but what roles we as a family can play in its future.
Keith and I will both be contributing our experiences as we attempt to push ourselves and sometimes those around us to change the ways we look at things in our everyday lives. We have been quite clear with each other that there will be no editing each others contributions, so you might see us discussing some of the same subject areas, but perhaps with slightly different views. We hope some of what we can share might help even a little bit. So…here we go!
